Subsurface Manager – Denver, CO


CSI Recruiting is working with an innovative and growing E&P company in their need for an experienced Subsurface Manager with a background in domestic, onshore reservoir engineering.

Our client is focused on domestic, onshore oil & assets in the Rockies and this role will require a high-level Reservoir Engineer who can help lead the development program and work alongside the COO on future acquisitions.

The Subsurface Manager will guide the development of new potential assets and serve as the functional lead for subsurface technical disciplines including geology, geophysics, petrophysics, reservoir engineering and operations engineering

Responsibilities to include:

  • Plan and direct reservoir engineering related operations and assessment programs and lead the estimation and evaluation of hydrocarbon reserves and future reservoir performance under various operating conditions. Recommend and directs optimal and economic reservoir management practices.
  • Lead reservoir modeling and simulation, reserves estimation and reservoir performance prediction. Oversee the economic evaluation of various exploration programs and recommend the most feasible reservoir management plans.
  • Direct and monitor reservoir engineering programs, reservoir characterization & simulation programs and core laboratory activities and recommends development well and workover drilling programs, long range exploration & development plans and appropriate oil and gas exploitation techniques based on reservoir engineering study and analysis of accumulated reservoir data in conformity with the Company’s long range plan within approved budgets.
  • Support the Reserves & Resources team to establish, maintain and improve the Reserves Categorization (categorizing reserves into Contingent, Possible, Probable, Proved etc.)

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Petroleum Engineering

Minimum Experience:

  • Minimum of 10-12 years of experience in Reservoir Engineering for domestic, on-shore exploration & field development operations with at least 5+ years at a supervisory level
