CSI Recruiting is working with an innovative and growing E&P firm, assisting in their search for a Manager of Production Operations to lead production operations activities in the company’s substantial Permian Basin assets.  The role will focus on ensuring that production levels are maintained as planned and enhanced recovery techniques are utilized for maximum production in a safe and responsible manner.

This position directs the entire production operations personnel (100+ individuals) and is also responsible for achieving and exceeding targets for safety performance, production volumes, lease operating expenses, GHG emissions performance, facility construction and preparedness as well as guiding field-related digital transformation initiatives.

The ideal candidate for this role will be a trusted manager of the field operation and personnel while utilizing engineering best-practices and E&P business acumen to guide and inform senior management and C-level executives as to the successes and challenges in the field.

A strong production engineer that earns the field’s respect while managing LOE and budgets will thrive in this position.


• Ensures production operations activities are operating at maximum efficiency with optimum cost-effectiveness and in compliance with internal policies and federal and state regulations.
• Develops, recommends and administers programs for production activities to realize maximum profitability levels by establishing short and long-term strategies for companywide production.
• Increases the production volumes/capacity by improving performance.
• Leads the production operations teams in the forecasting, planning, delivery of production volumes.
• Supervises Superintendents responsible for Production, Instrumentation & Electrical, & Facilities Construction
• Develops new strategies to increase production with safe and cost-efficient methods.
• Ensures adequate safety practices are used by onsite personnel, confirming that the company’s EHS policies are effectively implemented and corrective measures are taken in a timely manner. Takes corrective actions to rectify variances.
• Develops and manages budget and operational expenses, provides cost and risk management.
• Builds ongoing relationships with key members and functional managers within the company.
• Manages the commissioning and startup of new projects and recommends modifications to ensure compliance with standards, specs and contract terms and conditions.
• Manages field production assets to ensure optimum exploitation and administrating the resources to operate and maintain all surface facilities to ensure optimum availability of oil production around the clock in a safe and environmentally friendly manner.
• Ensure proper implementation of approved reservoir management and monitoring program.
• Effectively maintains internal and external communications with a broad variety of engineering disciplines and management.


• Bachelor’s degree in Petroleum Engineering or related Engineering field with a minimum of 10 years of professional oil and gas industry experience, preferably within the Permian Basin.
• A minimum of 7 years of supervisory experience.
• Strong technical background in production operations required.
• Ability to build, manage and foster a team-oriented environment.
• Effective project management skills and ability to handle multiple projects at the same time.
• Computer skills with working knowledge of Microsoft Office Software (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal; adept at interaction with variety of contacts, including peers within a multi-disciplinary team, management, vendors, industry partners.
• Ability to develop and manage interpersonal relationships at all levels of the company.
• Strong leadership skills and a proven background in supervising a diverse work force.
• Copes with ambiguity and change effectively, while comfortably managing overall risk and uncertainty.
