Completions Engineer, Haynesville – Houston, TX

CSI Recruiting is working with a Houston-based E&P firm in the process of expanding their operations in Haynesville.  To grow the operation and development program, our client is hiring a 5-15 year experienced Completions Engineer.  This E&P company is in a strong position financially and is looking to expand via asset development, operational efficiencies, and asset acquisitions. The role will focus on the company’s current asset base in the Haynesville.

The ideal candidate would be someone who can design and improve the completions program for deep, horizontal Haynesville wells. A minimum of 2 years of completions in the Haynesville is required …Current experience in the Haynesville is highly desired.

The VP of Engineering, who this position will report to, is seeking to hire an engineer  that does not need close supervision, instead seeking an experienced completions engineer who can basically “design and execute on their own”.

Role will also involve:

  • Monitoring the drilling industry and publications for new ideas and techniques
  • Working collaboratively with Geology, Completions, Reservoir, Procurement, Land and Production operations groups to implement new projects
  • Executing the completions schedule and program
  • Maintaining required safety training and compliance.
  • Assisting in preparation of Management Presentations and Quarterly reviews

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor of Science Degree in Petroleum Engineering.

Professional experience level of 5 to 15 years of total petroleum engineering experience working within an active E&P company.  Some early-career service company experience is fine, however the most recent experience should be as an in-house engineer with an operating company.

Prefer 2+ years of experience in Horizontal Completions (Bossier or Cotton Valley experience is also ideal).

This is a fast-moving, entrepreneurial-minded environment so the perfect candidate would be a high-energy self-starter who does not require the support personnel and infrastructure of a large company. At this point, the company would prefer a local Houston candidate.
