Country Manager – International Oil & Gas Assets

Location: Eastern Europe

CSI Recruiting is working with an international energy producer engaged in the acquisition, exploration, development and production of international oil and natural gas in Eastern Europe, assisting in their need for an experienced Country Manager.

Our client’s objective is to acquire and develop assets with known production potential in countries that have favorable fiscal terms and prices. The client utilizes North American technology to enhance and commercialize production.

Job Description:
The essential job duties shall include, but not be limited to, the following:

  • Manage day-to-day activity of production, completions and facilities operations teams focused on the development of international oil and gas assets.
  • Work with petroleum engineers in designing and well programming, and project management
  • Budgeting and planning lease operating expenses and expense workover programs: Managing asset performance
  • Project implementation includes drilling, completions, workovers, facilities and equipment upgrades
  • Understand issues related to oil and gas production, including by not limited to: latest applications of techniques and technology; complex operational programs that ensure adequate resource protection; new and innovative completion techniques for the extraction of hydrocarbon resources; measurement processes/practices; reservoir management; applications for permit to drill; lease valuation and fair market determinations; unit agreements; and commingling and off-lease
  • Provide technical training to field personnel, including inspection and audit personnel.
  • Provide oversight, guidance, and quality control relating oil and gas best practices


  • 4 year college degree in Engineering required.
  • Ideal candidate would have experience in Completions, Production, and Reservoir Engineering; Experience in production, workover and facilities required.  Experience working with International oil and gas assets is helpful.
  • Hands on artificial lift experience required.
  • Facilities Engineering experience is advantageous
  • Hands on field experience will be considered an asset
  • Must have skill and expertise in preparation of technical specifications, completion procedures and operation manuals
  • Must have in-depth knowledge in all completion operations including, but not restricted to, hydraulic fracturing, matrix acid stimulations, workover rig, wireline and coil tubing operations. Must have experience with artificial lift systems including but not limited to SRP, ESP, plunger lift and gas lift
  • Prior experience with oil and gas operating companies required. Service company experience would be an asset but not required.
  • Residing Internationally for 12-24 months in Eastern Europe will be required
