CSI Recruiting is working with an established and growing upstream oil & gas company in need of a Division Order Analyst to work within the company’s Land Administration group in downtown Denver, Colorado.

The Division Order Analyst is responsible for the proper establishment and maintenance of division of interest ownership records, overseeing and maintaining the company’s primary operating region for the Land and Land Administration team as it relates to Division Orders.

The Division Order Analyst is responsible for reviewing title, title opinions, agreements and curative to create ownership decks.

Division Order Analyst is responsible for analyzing and interpreting legal documents regarding ownership transfers, taking and resolving owner relations calls, coordinating with revenue and joint interest billing departments for timely payment and performing billing of royalty and working interest.

Essential Functions: 

  • Updates master Division of Interest (DOI) decks for changes in complex ownership interests, including processing deeds, assignments, probates, affidavits of heirship, and name and address changes
  • Collaborate with Landman on JIB and title issues; set up JIB decks as necessary
  • Communicates with working interest and royalty interest owners, responding to division order inquiries to resolve revenue and joint interest discrepancies, verification of well/unit interests, and explanation of interest calculations
  • Coordinates with the Revenue Accounting department to ensure timely payment of revenues, and proper suspense and release of revenue to owners
  • Coordinates with the Joint Interest Billing department to ensure timely billing of working interest owners
  • Prepare and distribute Division Orders accurately and promptly
  • Research owners suspense accounts
  • Respond to requests for information from other members of the company such as Landmen and accounting personnel
  • Analyze and interpret title documents affecting record title ownership of mineral and leasehold rights
  • Detailed analysis of leases, farm-out agreements, title opinions, operating agreements and other contracts and legal documents to determine the record title ownership division of interests
  • Complies with service level agreements, corporate policies, and SOX standards

  • Ability to adhere to stringent compliance requirements
  • Ability to communicate and multi-task effectively
  • Expert Excel experience is highly desirable

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Excellent Microsoft Excel and Word skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience with Quorum a plus.
  • Bachelors’ degree in Law, Energy Management or Business related field recommended, or equivalent and a minimum of five (5) or more years of relevant experience as a Division Order Analyst with an active oil and gas exploration company.
