Division Order Analyst – Plano, TX

CSI Recruiting is working with a privately held and financially sound upstream oil & gas company in their search for an experienced Division Order Analyst.  This role will be part of the company’s small but robust land team, working directly with the Manager of Land, Vice President of Land and the company’s senior leadership and owners.  This is a high-visibility role within the firm, liaising between the executive management, the engineering, land and geo departments as well as interacting with accounting and finance.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Implement and maintain workflows for Division Order Department
  • Analysis of title opinions and ownership documents to create and maintain decks for operated and non-operated properties
  • Ensure that division orders are timely sent out and payments are issued as prescribed by law (or contract)
  • Confirm accuracy of division orders received from outside operators/purchasers
  • Assist Landmen in due diligence, as well as curative matters required for receipt or issuance of payment
  • Work with Accounting to ensure accuracy of records and assist w/ inquiries related to coding, decks, operator changes, etc.
  • Manage owner inquiries and maintain relationships with royalty and joint-interest owners
  • Identify and recover suspended revenue due the Company
  • Review Bankruptcy Notices for implications to the Company
  • Maintain system addresses and tax ID numbers to facilitate 1099 distributions
  • Assist with data conversions from third party systems resulting from property acquisitions

Skills:

  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office suite, Enertia, Drilling Info, state/federal public data sites
  • Extensive knowledge and experience in division order work and calculating divisions of interest
  • Ability to analyze chain of title, title opinions, runsheets, etc. to determine ownership and identify outstanding title issues
  • Strong understanding of descent and distribution laws across various states
  • Knowledge of general Land practices and Land related agreements

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years experience in Land Administration and specifically seeking hands-on experience in the establishment and maintenance of Division Orders.
  • Must have experience setting up decks, not just analyzing and maintaining DO decks.
  • Strong interpersonal abilities and adept communications skills.
