E&P Operations Technician – Fort Worth, TX

CSI Recruiting is working with a premier E&P firm in Fort Worth, Texas in need of an experienced Production and Operations Technician addition to the company’s Production, Operations and Drilling team.  The Operations Technician will work hand-in-hand with the company’s Petroleum Engineers, the Vice President of Engineering, the CEO, the COO, the company’s accounting department and other staff as needed. 

This position will function as a key member of the Engineering Team, responsible for providing support in all areas of the production cycle including budgeting, opex analysis and well reviews.

  • Must have a general understanding of horizontal drilling operations in U.S. land, working with unconventional shale projects

Required Experience

  • Candidate must possess a minimum of 5 years of experience as an Engineering Technician within an active E&P environment with an emphasis on operations, production, and drilling support.  Strong data management experience is also essential. 
  • Must have experience working in-house at an operating company.

Job Responsibilities

  • Build and track AFE’s, perform vendor interface, manage well data. 
  • Review and correct daily drilling reports and daily cost reports for accuracy
  • Manage and ensure accuracy of wellbore data (survey, wellbore diagram, drilling parameters, bit & BHA components, mud properties, cement, etc.
  • Own, manage, and update the drill schedule in Excel and MS Project daily. Distribute to team members and vendors as needed.
  • Provide operating expense accruals and analysis to ensure accurate cash flow forecasts  
  • Provide support to Field Operations and Production Accountants as required  
  • Communicate with all departments of the company, confirming quality control and continuous improvement in production capabilities and processes 
  • Create and update post-well lookback presentations
  • Review all drilling invoices to verify that line item costs match bid or quote price
  • Approve or reject invoices, and work with Accounting Manager and vendors to resolve disputed invoices
