Evaluations Engineer – Dallas, TX

Evaluations Engineer – Dallas, TX

CSI Recruiting is working with a start-up oil & gas company in their efforts to hire a key person for their technical team, an experienced Evaluations Engineer to assist in the screening, evaluation, work-up and landing of acquisition opportunities.  The role will focus on domestic, onshore unconventional oil projects within the Permian and Mid-Continent.

The firm is comprised of a management team of mid-career, high-energy technical and business leaders that have previously worked for large operators, while also having built an E&P company that performed a highly successful acquire-develop-divest program within a private equity model.  Their goal is to build an organization designed to acquire high-upside projects, apply aggressive, best-in-breed technical procedures to the assets and produce those properties for the long term.

The right Evaluations Engineer will bring a history of successful acquisitions to the firm, with a concentration on unconventional oil projects, in addition to novel ideas around asset development and operations.  This is not a one or two dimension role, as you’ll be asked to contribute to all aspects of the E&P program.

Candidates should have the following to be considered:

  • 7+ years of petroleum engineering experience, with the bulk of that time spent working in-house at an active, domestic-focused E&P company.
  • 5+ years of reservoir engineering experience with a focus on domestic unconventional oil assets, with current skills in both asset development and acquisitions evaluations.
  • Advanced ARIES and Excel skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, advanced communications skills, written, oral and in-person.
  • Ability to juggle multiple deliverables at once in a time-sensitive environment.
  • Passion for the E&P business with a desire to learn what it takes to build and run an oil company

Position is based in Dallas – remote work is not an option at this point, although the company will consider candidates willing to move to Dallas for the role.
