Facilities Engineer – Denver, CO

CSI Recruiting is seeking a Facilities Engineer for a full-time, direct hire role with an upstream oil & gas / E&P firm in Denver.

The Facilities Engineer position requires high energy and ambition to assist in the growth the company’s asset base and development programs. The successful candidate will work closely with the drilling, completion, production and reservoir and field operation teams to support delivery of surface facilities and infrastructure for oil & gas development program, focused on the company’s assets in the Rockies.


  • Provide facility engineering support of facilities in onshore shale development
  • Design surface facilities and coordinate installation with field construction
  • Coordinate various facilities engineering tasks associated with oil & gas handling
    infrastructure and equipment
  • Collaborate with asset team to determine facility needs to keep up with drilling
    activity and existing production
  • Design and construct well pad locations
  • Develop company field procedures and policies
  • Develop and implement a company maintenance operations program
  • Prepare accurate AF’Es for new projects
  • Track actual costs and monitor expenditures for all AFE’s
  • Handle marketing and midstream contract negotiations
  • Provide regular updates to management regarding all facilities/midstream and
    marketing activities
  • Vendor evaluation and selection, as well as work order development for
    equipment and contractors
  • Regular onsite visits to monitor ongoing operations and to meet surface

Key Attributes:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Petroleum Engineering and 10+ years of experience oil & gas facilities
    and production
  • 8 + years of experience in onshore unconventional oil & gas production facilities engineering and construction.
  • Current or very recent Rockies Experience is required
  • Experience in designing and constructing production facilities and locations
  • Experience in designing/constructing and maintaining centralized surface facilities, gathering system and other oil and gas handling infrastructure
  • Strong experience in field operation and supervision
  • Experience Oil & Gas marketing and contract negotiations
  • Strong presentation skills, ability to explain details in clear and concise manner
  • Ability to travel to the field as needed
  • Ability to manage multiple projects within applicable timelines, budgets and state regulatory requirement

Working knowledge of the following in context of upstream oil and gas operations:

  • OSHA Process Safety Management elements and typical safety program requirements (including HAZOPs and Risk Analysis)
  • Industry codes and standards
  • Process control elements and systems
