CSI Recruiting is working with a leading E&P firm in the San Juan Basin, assisting with their need to hire an experienced HSE Manager.  This role will oversee the health, environmental and safety function in the asset by planning, coordinating and implementing effective HSE policies, guidelines, and procedures to ensure that the company is compliant with government safety regulations and industry standards.  CSP or CTS certification is preferred.  Experience wish OSHA reporting, safety training, and program management is preferred.  Oilfield experience is required.  The successful candidate will possess a comprehensive knowledge of oilfield process and safety protocol.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide support to the Operations Team in all aspects of safety, occupational health and field environmental issues
  • Direct the HSE department staff field activities related to air compliance, field environmental compliance and facility compliance
  • Implement the company established HSE policies by personal example and leadership. Continuous evaluation and improvement of these policies as required or realized
  • Promote a strong awareness and personal responsibility for HSE with all management and supervisory personnel
  • Implement existing safety programs and plans
  • Review company activities and ensure compliance with HSE policies, HSE plans and procedures. Ensure all policies, plans and procedures are approved by the Enduring Management Team
  • Plan, coordinate and facilitate employee safety meetings
  • Track and present health and safety score cards for the field office to encourage and develop a positive safety culture
  • Effectively investigate and communicate all field incidents and spills to Corporate Officer, Regulatory and Asset Manager
  • Effectively investigate and communicate all work-related injuries/illnesses to Corporate Officer, Human Resources and Asset Manager
  • Promote and effectively communicate lessons learned through the near miss and incident reporting programs
  • Accurately maintain/file all required government forms/reports
  • Collaborate and work with Regulatory Team to ensure field operations are compliant from a health and safety aspect.
  • Ensure that contractor HSE activities comply with the Company & Contractor HSE policies and plans
  • Establish HSE site reports and statistics and report to management weekly and at employee meetings
  • Ensure that emergency preparedness and response plans are developed, approved by Corporate and implemented at the field level. Ensure that all employees are trained on these approved plans
  • Valid Driver’s license/Safely drive company vehicle/ Clean driving record
  • Perform all duties in compliance with the Enduring Resources HSE Manual

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • High degree of personal integrity, professionalism, and work ethic
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong skills in Microsoft Office, organization, time management, and ability to resolve issues
  • Solid understanding of local, state and federal HSE regulations as they relate to oilfield personnel and procedures
  • Prior experience training employees
  • Solid knowledge of health, safety and environmental procedures and requirements.
  • Excellent leadership, supervisory and communication skills

Preferred Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor of Science degree preferred or equivalent relevant experience.
  • Ten years of experience working in the Oil and Gas Industry
