I&E Technician – West Texas (Monahans)

Immediate hiring need in West Texas for an experienced, capable and reliable Instrumentation and Electrical Technician (I&E Technician).

The I&E Technician will be expected to provide the following:

  • Provide automation and programming expertise for oil and gas technology throughout the area west of Monahans, TX, delivering support of products, technologies, and automation projects
  • Program and provide support of industry standard devices and systems (Allen Bradley PLCs, IDEC PLC’s, ABB Totalflow, ABB AC500, Samsara Industrial Gateways, VFDs, pumps, flow meters, valve actuators, pressure transmitters, etc.)
  • Assist with digital data communications (Rajant radios, Unifi radios, switches and gateways, and Pepwave cellular modems, Wilson boosters, etc.) and other networking systems
  • Diagnosing instrumentation and electrical issues
  • Report to the Information Technology department supporting products, technologies, and projects while embedded at our field office with our operations personnel
  • Work with Samsara cloud managed SCADA and Dashboard solution
  • Daily meetings between Operations and IT
  • Daily IT status calls
  • Coordinating vendors for escalating electrical and programming incidents where needed.
  • Travel as needed for projects and in response to business needs
  • Provide exceptional customer support to Operations


  • GED, programming knowledge and training
  • Preference given to those with a technical school diploma in the areas of Automation, Controls, and/or Instrumentation
  • Diverse work experience with electrical and automation systems on Oil and Gas field sites is a must.
  • Knowledge of control systems and automation software (PCCU, Studio 5000, FactoryTalk) preferred
  • Demonstrated expertise in management of end-to-end automation projects
  • Strong customer service, multitasking, and problem-solving skills
  • Capable of working efficiently under pressure in a sometimes physically demanding environment, demonstrating experience working outdoors in all climatic conditions and sometimes in remote locations
  • Willing to work 40 – 60 hours per week and be available for callouts during afterhours scheduled and emergency activities
