Land Technician – Dallas, Texas


For a small, privately-held E&P company headquartered in Downtown Dallas, CSI Recruiting is seeking candidates for a Land Technician / Land Analyst role.

Our client has a small staff of high energy, high productivity professionals, focused on moving the company forward with production and development of their oil assets.  This Land Technician role will be a key contributor, supporting the company’s lean and efficient land department.

Responsibilities / Expectations

  • High familiarity with and an ability to analyze lease terms/forms (royalty provisions, surface restrictions/damages, continuous development clauses, retained acreage clauses, etc.)
  • Organize/prepare leasehold spreadsheets/data basis
  • Assist accounting with payments of royalties, JIBS, working-interest partner relations
  • Prepare division orders and communicate with mineral owners, including updating and tracking any ownership changes
  • Assist land department with field brokers, including reviewing invoices and title
  • Knowledgeable with land systems (iLandman), Microsoft Excel, drilling info


Candidates should have a minimum of 4 years of professional experience working as a Land Technician or Land Analyst within an active, domestic-focused E&P company.

Candidates should be high energy, self starters and have an entrepreneurial ownership of their work product.

This company is  moving forward quickly, so this role will inevitably morph into larger scope of influence and higher levels of responsibility as time goes on and the firm grows.
