CSI Recruiting is seeking experienced in-house petroleum landman candidates for a growing E&P firm in Dallas (just north of the city).  The role will focus on working with a specific set of conventional assets along with the company’s existing land staff, as well as being involved in acquisitions for conventional oil assets.  Experience with waterflood, CO2 Flood or other EOR properties is preferred

The Petroleum Landman will be responsible for performing land functions including lease acquisitions, title examinations, abstracting, securing of curative, negotiations with landowners and companies, records, payments, and drafting and monitoring of oil and gas exploration contracts for area of responsibility.

JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Perform day-to-day assignments including processes in lease acquisitions, title examinations, abstracting, securing of curative, negotiations with landowners and companies, records, payments, and drafting and monitoring of oil and gas exploration contracts;
  • Organize the title updates and/or abstracts in advance of drilling schedule;
  • Ensure that the surface issues are being addressed in a timely manner;
  • Review title approval documents for accuracy and give final title approval prior to spud;
  • Coordinate reports and land information flow with other team members;
  • Give direction to field personnel;
  • Serve as landowner liaison when necessary;
  • Plan and coordinate with the team on surface locations, r/w, and easements;
  • Send information to partners;
  • Actively engage and manage pursuit of open acreage in approved lease plays;
  • Help develop lease strategies for area of responsibility;
  • Monitor regulatory compliance;
  • Understand the competition in specific areas;
  • Contract preparation and review of incoming proposals;
  • Contract maintenance and compliance;
  • Aide the A & D efforts of the company as needed through negotiations, due diligence or other matters, as requested
  • Represents the company and stakeholders in complex governmental agency proceedings.

REQUIREMENTS

The ideal Landman candidate will have between 5 to 10 years of experience working as an in-house landman within an active oil & gas company focused on the development of domestic onshore assets, specifically conventional oil properties.  Experience working with waterflood and / or CO2 flood assets is preferred.

Experience as an in-house landman in Texas, Oklahoma, Louisiana, Colorado, Wyoming and Kansas is most relevant.
