CSI Recruiting is working with a growing E&P company in Houston in their search for an experienced Petroleum Landman.  The client is STRONGLY preferring that candidates have experience working in and around East Texas.  Northeast Louisiana experience will also get extra consideration.

You’ll work in a small, highly experienced Land Department in a professional office environment.  This firm is on a steady growth trajectory and will be in great financial shape regardless of tomorrow’s oil or gas prices.

Key Responsibilities:

• Analyzes JOAs, title opinions and other ancillary agreements related to well activity clearance (including new drills, recompletions, etc.)
• Performs title/contract research and commercial analysis to make recommendations related to both upstream and midstream capital projects.
• Coordinates the internal review, approval and tracking of AFEs for both operated and nonoperated properties including: directing the preparation and tracking of partner ballots/notifications as well as the logging and routing of AFEs; reviewing external AFEs; and communicating AFE status in weekly technical team meetings
• Communicates DOI changes to Land Admin staff and payout tracking parameters to Accounting.
• Communicates with outside operators to track near term plans and project volume.
• Works with OBO operators to obtain activity reports and required data related to external AFE operations.
• Works with production operations team to set up partners for data reporting related to internal AFE operations.
• Executes various functions of project management, including document compilation, report preparation, and internal/external stakeholder coordination on assigned projects.

Key Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree in Petroleum Land Management (PLM), Energy Management, Business or related field
• Minimum of 5 years of broad-based, in-house land experience in a land management role
• Experience in East Texas and/or North Louisiana
• Familiarity with and experience analyzing Joint Operating Agreements, Oil & Gas Leases and other operational agreements
• Clear communications skills with excellent organization, problem solving, data-mining and time management skills
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel and PowerPoint, and of course, Word)
• Experience working within a multidisciplinary operations group preferred
• Title background with curative experience preferred
• Experience with  ArcGIS, DrillingInfo and IHS Enerdeq a plus, as is experience with Quorum
