Manager of Human Resources – Fort Worth, TX

An established oil & gas company based in the DFW area (Fort Worth) is seeking to hire an experienced Manager of Human Resources.  This role will report to the company’s President and would not have direct reports.  The Manager of Human Resources will oversee, direct and execute all aspects of the human resources for the Company including; workforce planning and development, risk management, compensation and benefits, employee and labor relations, office morale and other projects as assigned.  This position requires a high level of organization, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced, results-focused environment.

Responsibilities:

Workforce Planning and Development

  • Conduct recruitment effort for the company’s two corporate offices and two field offices
  • Manage life cycle of employee tenure from recruitment, interviews, offers, on-boarding and annual reviews, through exit interviews and off -boarding.
  • Develop, recommend and implement personnel policies and procedures.
  • Prepares, reviews, updates and maintains employee handbook

Risk Management:

  • Ensures compliance with all federal, state and local employment laws
  • Participates in annual audits of plan
  • Submit required reports to appropriate regulatory bodies, e. EEO-1 reporting.
  • Workers’ Compensation administrator; file claims, monitor progress of claim and facilitate employee’s return to work

Compensation and Benefits:

  • Analyze and modify compensation and benefits policies to ensure compliance with legal requirements.
  • Review and write job descriptions as as necessary
  • Manage the performance evaluation
  • Benefits administrator: work with brokers and providers to ensure continued service and up to date plans.
  • Oversee benefit plans including medical, dental, 401(k), disability, and life insurance.

Employee and labor Relations:

  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with employees at all levels within the region and and organization.
  • Lead the company’s office environment and overall morale with a positive attitude and forward-looking mentality
  • Provide current and prospective employees with information about policies, job duties, working conditions, wages, and opportunities for promotion and employee benefits.
  • Processes internal paperwork for employee status changes such as transfers, separations, promotions, and maintains physical and electronic files.
  • Represent organization at personnel-related hearings and investigations.

Business Management and Strategy:

  • Facilitate the development and communication of the organization’s core values, vision, mission and ethical behaviors.
  • Monitor the legislative and regulatory environment for changes that will impact the company.
  • Plans, organizes and controls all activities of the HR department and in developing department goals, objectives and systems.

Required Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business or related discipline
  • At least 8+ years of professional work experience in Human Resources
  • Proficient in Microsoft Suite of products to include Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Strong communication and people skills with the ability to interact effectively with employees at all levels
  • Positive attitude and uplifting demeanor with the desire to instill confidence in others
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize to meet deadlines in a fast-paced
  • Demonstrated ability to exercise discretion and diplomacy when dealing with confidential and sensitive matters.
  • Ability to work with a high degree of autonomy and as a member of a team.

Any experience in the oil & gas industry would be highly desirable but is not mandatory.  Company will consider candidates from outside the DFW market however there is minimal relocation assistance available.
