Oil & Gas Accountant – Fort Worth, TX

CSI Recruiting is currently seeking candidates for an experienced Oil & Gas Accountant to work within an established and growing Upstream Oil & Gas company in Fort Worth, Texas.  This exploration & production (E&P) firm has significant existing production within the U.S. and is adding newly acquired assets currently.  This position will focus on Accounts Payable functions while also interfacing with the company’s other accounting and finance personnel in Accounts Receivable, Revenue, JIB (Joint Interest Billing) and Cash Management.

As an Accountant working for our client, you will be responsible for maintaining accounting policies and procedures that ensure the highest level of efficiency while maintaining appropriate internal controls and compliance with US GAAP.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Process journal entries for month-end close
  • Create accounting schedules & balance sheet reconciliations
  • Code cash activity
  • Sort, code and enter accounts payable data
  • Prepare monthly accruals
  • Analyze discrepancies and research and close reconciling items
  • Perform filing and general administrative tasks
  • Maintain fixed assets
  • Process AP checks
  • Manage tax correspondence & collaborate with third party processor & auditor
  • Assist with financial and sales tax audits
  • Perform bank account reconciliations
  • Other tasks as assigned by the supervisor.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting/Economics or related field.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Accounting experience in a payment processing
  • Excellent Excel skills and strong Microsoft Office, Outlook, and Word
