CSI Recruiting is working with a small, financially sound and growth-minded oil & gas operating company that is seeking to hire an experienced Operations Geologist.  This Geologist will integrate with the client’s horizontal development and geotechnical analysis team.

This position requires an individual with grit, perseverance, and the ability to work non-conventional hours consistent with active drilling operations. This position will be responsible for all day to day geosteering, geotechnical data integration, pre-drill hazard review and planning. The Operations Geologist will report to the Geoscience Manager while working closely with the drilling team and other members of the team.

Primary Responsibilities:
• Support and provide ideas to improved analysis & implementation of horizontal development procedures
• Focus on planning, design, and implementation for broad range of horizontal initiatives
• Provide feedback on seismic data needs to incorporate into development planning.
• Preparation of memoranda and presentations for internal and external use
• Work closely with cross-functional teams such as operations, engineering, & land
• Participate in industry and discipline groups, society and events to help expand geotechnical relationships with occasional travel to conferences and workshops.
• Work closely with various consultants to evaluate their work product & performance to ensure they are in keeping with the company leadership’s expectations & standards.
• Provide feedback on asset development for new and/or legacy fields

• Provide feedback on value creation opportunities in line with your comparative advantage

Secondary Responsibilities:
• Provide feedback and support geotechnical due diligence for A&D opportunities
• Evaluate and provide feedback on inhouse and 3rd party prospect opportunities
• Provide feedback on prospect evaluation processes and developing best in class data analysis procedures.
• Assist in build and/or manage geological models for exploitation/development opportunities input, integrate, and analyze broad range of data into visualization software.
• Digitize analog well logs to develop exploitation models

Requirements:
• 3-5+ years’ experience in a geotechnical function
• Must have 1+ year in Geosteering/Operations Geoscience role
• Experience in horizontal development
• Must have experience with Petra / Geographix / IHS geo Software
• High integrity and trustworthy
