CSI Recruiting is presently recruiting for a growing, privately-held E&P firm based in Dallas, assisting in their search for an Operations Manager to lead and execute the company’s development program within Texas unconventional oil plays.

The client is seeking Operations Manager candidates with experience in domestic, unconventional resource plays including the Permian and Eagle Ford, particularly with experience managing deep wells (3+ miles) at high temperatures (300+ F) within these plays.

The Operations Manager role will also assume responsibility for the facilities in place currently and any additional facilities brought on via the development program, including gathering facilities and tank batteries.  The client does not expect any new facility construction, so design background is not essential.

The Operations Manager position will have oversight of junior Production Engineers and experienced Engineering Technicians, and will report to C-level senior management and company founders.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s of Science in Petroleum Engineering
  • 10+ years of professional experience working within the domestic E&P industry as a petroleum engineer, preferably in-house at an active operating company.
  • Of that 10+ years of petroleum engineering experience, candidates should have 8+ years of production and operations engineering experience with a focus on domestic, onshore assets.  Experience should include successful work in asset optimization, vendor management, field personnel management, office personnel management and development and development program budgeting.
  • Of that 10+ years of petroleum engineering experience, candidates should have 5+ years of current experience working within domestic onshore unconventional resource plays including the at least one of the following: Permian, Eagle Ford, Haynesville, Niobrara, with a focus on oil development.
  • Experience working within a small-company environment is preferred, as is a willingness to take on multiple responsibilities as needed to achieve the firm’s objectives.

 

This is a senior-level technical role with leadership components, not the other way around.  Candidates seeking an oversight position with little interest in daily engineering work will not be a good fit for this position or this company.

The firm maintains an all-hands-on-deck environment with the expectation that everyone is responsible for multiple functions.
