Operations Manager – West Texas

Operations Manager, Permian – Monahans / Pecos / Kermit, TX

CSI Recruiting is working with a growing E&P firm with premium Permian Basin assets in the Delaware Basin, assisting in their search for an Operations Manager.  The Operations Manager will be responsible for managing field personnel, overseeing the field office and setting the tone for a productive, positive working environment.  This is a busy team with lofty goals, so the right Operations Manager candidate will have strong leadership skills, a collaborative approach to problem solving and excellent oral and written communications skills.

Reporting to the company’s Vice President of Operations, the Operations Manager will be responsible for:

Operational Responsibilities

  • Promotes, demonstrates and maintains a culture of safety excellence, and actively participates in HSE planning, reporting, auditing and continuous improvement
  • Ensure competency within the field operations team, including development of programs to ensure mentoring, training and growth for all operations personnel
  • Develop a culture of ownership of work product in the operations team
  • Actively pursues opportunities to improve field operations through enhancing throughput, improving well / facility uptime, and optimizing LOE / CAPEX
  • Supports the successful integration of new facilities and facility modifications to operations, and interface with D&C and workover programs
  • Supports recruitment, hiring, training and mentoring of field operations personnel
  • Fosters strong relationships with contractors and vendors critical to successful field operations
  • Oversee field maintenance teams led by Maintenance Foreman
  • Provide routine executive level reporting

  • BS in Petroleum Engineering or related discipline
  • 10+ years of experience working within the upstream oil & gas industry, with a strong preference for production and operations leadership experience
  • Experience working in West Texas, with advanced knowledge of vendors, personnel and a strong network of oil & gas contacts in the region
  • High work ethic and established reputation within the Permian Basin

Must be able to work within a field office located west of Odessa, Texas.
