Want to work at the base of the Rocky Mountains? CSI is working with a small E & P company with assets in Colorado currently looking for an Operations Superintendent to manage, direct and run their field office.

The ideal candidate would have about 15 years of completions along with solid field personnel management experience as well as a “can do” attitude with a knack of cost-cutting and effective communication.

Our client is looking for this Operations Superintendent to be a problem solver/leader, someone who can rally the troops and take charge. The ideal candidate will have experience with frac design as well as dealing with field problems (cement job issues, well completions, etc.) Someone who supervises field staff that maintains and services gas production facilities. Oversees testing and monitoring of wells, pumps, compression, water disposal, pipelines and other equipment.

Operations Superintendent candidates should have experience with compression and low-pressure gas and knowledge of completion equipment systems required for artificial lift, such as Progressive Cavity and rod pumps is required.

The client is looking for Operations Superintendent candidates with 15 to 30 years of solid E & P Operator experience.  (Their current asset base is very similar to South Texas and Cotton Valley)

Operations Superintendent – Additional Job duties:

  • Leads and Manages staff of 60+ lease operators, mechanics, technicians and engineers.
  • Able to prioritize workflow on multiple initiatives without impeding day to day operations
  • Must be a problem solver.
  • Has total P&L responsibility.
  • Ensures all production operations are carried out in a safe manner.
  • Ensures everyone follows company policies and procedures.
  • Solves problems caused by production outages
  • Ensures that production losses are minimized
  • Ensures the production plant, processes and equipment are functioning efficiently
  • Supervises field staff that maintains and services gas production facilities. Oversees testing and monitoring of wells, pumps, compression, water disposal, pipelines and other equipment.
  • Responsible for safety of staff and production facilities.
  • Supervises a group of primarily para-professional level staffs.
  • Makes day-to-day decisions within or for a group/small department.
  • Thorough knowledge of department processes.
  • Thorough knowledge of natural gas facilities and of state and federal regulatory requirements
  • Managing projects and timing to achieve asset goals, including planning and logistics for assigned completion activities from drilling rig release through hand-off to production operations
  • Working with Superintendents and Engineers to optimize safe and low-cost completion procedures for well operations
  • Identifying, evaluating, and selecting of qualified vendors
  • Having direct input and responsibility for cost control and ensuring operations stay within budget

The ideal Operations Superintendent candidate would also have the following:

  • 15+ years of completions experience
  • Strong leadership and communication skills complimented with openness to new ideas, leading by example, and the ability to take direction.
  • Computer proficiency in word processing, spreadsheet, and engineering applications software
  • Experience using WellView daily reporting system
  • Experienced in simultaneous operations
  • Well-developed planning and organizing skills
  • Sound business judgment and an innovative problem solver
  • Self-starter requiring little to no direct guidance.
  • Knowledge of completion equipment systems required for artificial lift, such as Progressive Cavity and rod pumps
  • Takes ownership of actions and follows through on commitments by courageously dealing with important problems, holding others accountable, and standing up for what is right
  • Delivers results through realistic planning to accomplish goals
  • Generates effective solutions based on available information and makes timely decisions that are safe and ethical
