Permian Reservoir Engineer – Oklahoma City, OK

CSI Recruiting is working with an upstream oil & gas company in their search for an experienced Reservoir Engineer to work as part of a small team of experienced Reservoir Engineers in their Oklahoma City office.   This role will report to the Vice President of Reservoir Engineering and focus on evaluations of current unconventional assets and acquisition opportunities in the Permian Basin of West Texas.

Responsibilities include:

  • Evaluation of asset development, exploitation opportunities, reserve profiles and profitability on existing properties as well as for potential acquisitions within the Permian / West Texas, focusing on unconventional assets.
  • Monitor drilling results and prepare / update asset type curve scenarios for economic runs
  • Identification and economic assessment of drilling and workover opportunities
  • Audits and technical reviews on projects at key milestones
  • Reserve calculations, reporting, and documentation with corporate engineering and third party reservoir auditors
  • Work with other disciplines to delineate and optimize development of resources
  • Utilizing data and best industry petroleum engineering practices, draw conclusions and suggest development and exploitation opportunities

Education/Experience Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering; petroleum engineering STRONGLY preferred
  • Minimum of 4 years of in-house / operator Reservoir Engineering experience with focus on unconventional assets.
  • Demonstrated experience and competencies in team work, project management, and skills related to the E&P lifecycle
  • Experience in reservoir engineering functions including decline curve analysis, production surveillance, and economic evaluations
  • Direct work experience and proficiency with economic evaluation software, preferably ARIES
  • Able to handle moderate to complex reservoir engineering analysis including Decline curve projections, type curves, volumetric analysis, inflow performance and statistics
  • Advanced ARIES skills
  • Experience working with Permian Basin assets.
  • Experience in Access, Excel, Spotfire, Arcmap GIS, Drillinginfo and IHS Enerdeq
  • Prior work experience within an active E&P company, and a broad understanding of the E&P business, strong domestic onshore asset experience within shale oil plays.
