CSI Recruiting is working with a growing oil & gas company headquartered in Dallas, assisting in the recruitment of an experienced Petroleum Land Technician for the firm’s land department.  Excellent office environment, dynamic company with diverse oil assets throughout the U.S.

Reports to Land Administration Manager

Essential Functions/Responsibilities

The Petroleum Land Technician works primarily with time sensitive material and is responsible for:

  • LOI & Deed Creation
  • Verifying title work and completing any needed curative prior to deed creation.
  • Recording deeds with county via electronic services.
    • Maintaining electronic recorded deed files including data entry.
    • Notifying operators of transfers via email.
  • Review & Delivery of Incoming Division Orders.
    • Entering criteria from orders in the database (Pay Status, Unit Interest, Owner Number, Provision Codes, Well Information, Suspense Notes)
    • Scanning and organizing adobes of division orders
    • Mail out of executed orders
    • Overall due diligence on received or not received orders (curative function)
  • GIS Mapping of tracts to create shapefiles.
  • Managing Non-Op interests (PPLA creation, Election notices, etc.)
  • Verifying pay decimals in comparison with revenue checks.
  • Other duties as requested by the management team.

Qualifications

Ideally the candidate will have earned their Bachelor’s Degree and have a minimum of three years of experience working within the land department of an active, domestic-focused oil & gas company, particularly with experience handling division orders from multiple operators.

Experience as a Petroleum Land Technician, Land Administrator or Land Analyst would be ideal.

Legal document knowledge a plus.

Experience with mapping software, particularly ArcGIS is strongly preferred.

Candidates should be trainable and able to work efficiently with excellent attention to detail.
