Production Engineer (ESP Focus) – Fort Worth, TX

CSI Recruiting is working with a growing E&P firm in Fort Worth, Texas in need of an experienced Production Engineer to contribute to the company’s Production, Operations and Drilling team.  The Production Engineer will work hand-in-hand with the company’s Petroleum Engineers, the Field staff, the Vice President of Engineering, the CEO, the COO, the company’s accounting department and other staff as needed. 

This role will be key to the company’s goal of growing production by developing unconventional oil assets with a concentration on ESP wells.


Experience in domestic, onshore production operations engineering with a focus on ESP and Artificial Lift.  Must have strong experience working in-house at operators versus service companies.  


  • Optimize oil and gas production at the well and field level.
  • Demonstrate creativity to challenge and optimize current artificial lift systems and field operation practices. 
  • Lead the well surveillance process to identify and carry out production improvement opportunities on wells, facilities, and operations.
  • Identify production optimization work such as recompletions, workovers/stimulation, and lift revision candidates.
  • Generate cost estimates, economics, procedures, and AFE’s for production optimization work.
  • Design ESP and artificial lift systems for horizontal wells
  • Provide production engineering support for new well design and operation.
  • Work closely with the field to optimize artificial lift methods and facility performance.
  • Recommend modifications and/or investments to upgrade systems to reduce operating costs.
  • Conduct post audit reviews of workover costs and well performance to deliver economic programs.


  • BS degree in Petroleum or Mechanical Engineering
  • A minimum of 8 years of production engineering experience working in-house at active E&P companies.
  • Extensive knowledge and experience in operating and designing ESP wells
  • Develop artificial lift surveillance processes, tools and best practices that maximize production and minimize costs
  • Demonstrated ability or capacity to use engineering skills to solve problems and monitor and analyze your asset performance to enhance production
  • Ability to interact and communicate (written and verbal) effectively with office and field team members, other departments, vendors and partners to define, sell, and execute value adding work
  • Experience in unconventional reservoir operations
  • Good working knowledge of drilling, completion, production, facilities, and operations
