CSI Recruiting is working with a growing oil & gas company in support of their need for an experienced Oil & Gas Regulatory Analyst / Environmental Tech to work within the company’s active operations team in Plano, Texas.

Key Responsibilities for the Regulatory Analyst / Environmental Tech:

  • Communicate with federal, state, BIA, and EPA agencies.  Develop rapport with contacts within those agencies
  • Knowledge to complete permitting of oil & gas wells, injection, salt water disposal wells, co-mingling, and location exception applications
  • Read and understand plats and drilling report to submit paperwork
  • Prepare ½ mile and ¼ mile plats for injection and SWD applications
  • Perform all annual testing for the states we operate in, including TX, OK, AR, KS, LA, WY, IL
  • Have drilling technician experience
  • Knowledge to read and understand a well bore schematics
  • Able to multi-task between the differing statues and regulations within various states – Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Kansas, Louisiana, Wyoming, and Illinois.
  • Work closely & build rapport with internal staff, including petroleum engineers, field personnel, petroleum geologist, landman, land personnel & accounting personnel

Environmental knowledge is a plus:

  • SPCC/Spill Prevention, Control & Counter measure
  • GHG/greenhouse gas

Desired Skills and Experience:

  • 5+ Years of experience working within the upstream (E&P) oil & gas industry as a regulatory analyst, regulatory technician or related role.
  • 5+ Years of experience working with federal, state, BIA, and EPA agencies
  • Proven ability to maintain and evaluate data that leads to good technical and financial decisions
  • Proven work ethic
  • Ability to clearly convey practical concepts and relevant information in oral presentations
  • Ability to work independently and a track records of taking ownership of work product and initiative in problem solving
  • Strong communication skills, oral and written, as well as in-person and over the phone.
  • Ability to handle multiple projects across multiple states
