CSI Recruiting is supporting a growing, natural gas-focused E&P firm in Houston, Texas their search for a Reservoir Engineer to work in both asset development and acquisitions evaluations.

The firm is seeking solid experience in the evaluation of domestic, onshore gas assets, well planning for natural gas development, reserves evaluations and acquisitions deal screening within the unconventional gas arena.
The office is small in numbers (less than 50 people) but is the primary technical office for the firm, housing all of the geoscience, land and most of the engineering functions not related to the field.  The office environment is open and collaborative, and the leadership has a combination of technical and managerial experience.
 
Responsibilities:
  • Perform reservoir engineering activities for asset development within an active drilling program.  Conduct economic analyses of the assets under management.
  • Perform detailed evaluations and analysis for acquisition opportunities, with a focus on domestic, onshore natural gas assets.
  • Be involved in property evaluations of the company’s existing assets for divestiture
  • Spearhead reserve forecasting and mark to market valuations
  • Display understanding of depletion mechanism and production optimization strategies
  • Understand key cost and performance drivers for each property
  • Illustrate innovative efforts in maximizing value extracted from all reservoirs in portfolio
  • Collaborate with Corporate Development/Finance to prepare investment presentations and recommendations related to capital funding of all projects (current portfolio, asset acquisitions and joint ventures)
Required:
  • 5+ years of upstream oil and gas Reservoir Engineering experience working with domestic, onshore assets, preferably focused on unconventional resources.
  • Current experience of developing business case conclusions regarding oil & gas assets based on economic analysis
  • Strong technical skills and an ‘engineering mind’
  • Highly motivated, entrepreneurially driven individual with proven track record of adding value to E&P companies.
  • Fluent in ARIES and other evaluation software packages
  • Bachelor’s of Science in Petroleum Engineering
  • Strong business acumen within the upstream oil & gas industry.
