CSI Recruiting is working with a growing and actively drilling E&P firm located in the Dallas / Fort Worth market and supporting their immediate hiring need for a Reservoir Engineering Manager.

This is a growth role – not a back-fill, but the result of a significant increase in activity at the company.  Our client maintains a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.  As such, the client would prefer a candidate who has worked in a similar style company, and in a similar role.  The position is first and foremost a technical role, however the right candidate will contribute to strategic decisions, vendor selection, project management initiatives and work as a leader in the organization.

For the Reservoir Engineering Manager role, our client is seeking an innovative and results-driven Reservoir Engineering professional specializing in the following:

  • Experience in running a multi-rig development program along with directing well spacing/completion optimization.
  • A development-focused reservoir engineer who can implement and complete a project, and a professional who can lead the conversation and is assertive
  • Unconventional asset experience is highly desired (Permian, East Texas, Austin Chalk, maybe Fayetteville Shale).  The client plans to add multiple rigs later this year so the company is clearly in growth mode.
  • Client needs this person to employ sound decision making methods to complex projects, including economic analysis.


  • Demonstrate ability to solve complex problems.
  • Evaluate and monitor well performances
  • Generate production well forecasts
  • Work closely with other departments
  • Must have strong knowledge of economic evaluation and financial metrics.
  • Improve efficiency in data analysis


  • Extensive exposure to unconventional resources, ideally having worked in multiple resource plays
  • Minimum education: Bachelor’s Degree required – Petroleum Engineering is preferred
  • Well versed in economic modelling software (ARIES or similar)
  • Experience utilizing information from multiple public data sources
  • A minimum of 10 years of working as a reservoir engineer for an independent E&P company focused on unconventional assets in the Lower 48 in the US
