Senior Completions Engineer – Oklahoma City, OK

CSI Recruiting is working with an Oklahoma City-based E&P company that is hiring for a Senior Completions Engineer.  This is a growth role, resulting from the company’s increased activity in the Mid-Continent.

The Senior Completions Engineer will play a key role in delivering, planning and executing cost-effective completion designs for new wells.

The position will involve:

  • Preparing completion program preparation, including frac modeling, stress analysis, equipment specification and selection, cost estimates and post appraisals.
  • Evaluating operations execution, collaborate with operations engineering.
  • Ensuring completion programs, program amendments, and dispensation to policy are prepared on schedule and are adequately risk assessed.
  • Liaising with sub-surface and production team to ensure future considerations are built into the completion design.
  • Monitoring all aspects of well completion operations.
  • Performing post-analyses and benchmarking the results.
  • Observing service company inspections.
  • Recommending engineering studies to improve completion operational performance.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering discipline, preferably Petroleum
  • Minimum of 7 years experience as a Completions, Production or Drilling Engineer with at least 3 years focused on Completions Engineering
  • Extensive experience working with onshore, unconventional oil assets.  Experience working in the Mid-Continent is helpful but not essential.  Experience in one or more of the following plays is ideal: Wolfcamp, SCOOP / STACK / Merge, Eagle Ford, Niobrara, Bakken
  • Hydraulic Fracturing modeling experience
  • Experience creating a completion design for an oil well
  • Experience in frac optimization related to resource play completions
  • Demonstrated experience working with multi-disciplinary teams
  • Willingness and ability to travel to field locations as needed – field locations are in Oklahoma.
